What is your least favorite count of the salsa basic step?
Maybe 7? Or maybe you get uncomfortable at all the steps when the music speeds up? Or on the contrary, at a slower tempo it gets kind of messy...
Why does this happen?
Because you use the same coordination even though each step is different.
- 1 - fast forward
- 2 - fast forward break
- 34 - slow back
- 5 - fast back
- 6 - fast back break
- 78 - slow forward
- There are also side steps, cross steps etc.
And because everything in the body is connected, by changing the movement of one part (for example, the leg) we have to change the movements of all other parts.
It's ok to use average version of coordination at the beginning, but the more advanced dancers we become, the more we need to ... 👇
Customize each step
The 6 lessons that will give you an understanding of how body parts can move and what variations of coordination we can create from these movements and apply to salsa.
For example:
- Lesson 1 - 6 variations of coordination based on foot and knee work and weight transfer
- Lesson 2 - 8 variations based on pelvic work
Who's all this for?
For those who just starting out
You like to act as consciously as possible and in a way that puts everything in its proper place.
For those who continue
But has hit a ceiling, feels uncomfortable and illogical somewhere, but can't figure out where
For teachers
Who lack the knowledge of anatomy and biomechanics to explain movements more clearly and correct students' mistakes
